Rutgers vice president accepts University of California post after a successful six-year tenure

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (PRWEB) June 04, 2012

Michael J. Pazzani, vice president for research and economic development at Rutgers, has accepted the position of vice chancellor for research and economic development at the University of California, Riverside, effective July 1.

During Pazzanis six years at Rutgers, the research enterprise has built considerable momentum. Federal research expenditures at all three Rutgers campuses have increased more than at most U.S. universities, rising from $ 126 million in 2006 to $ 260 million last year.

The results speak to the quality of our faculty and the hard work of many dedicated people here, Pazzani said. His strategy has been to concentrate on research development by building a support system that has met some specific objectives.
